Day 1 was kind of a flop!  I'm going to blame impending tom but really it is a grain  and sugar addiction addiction I will kick.. There are a few wins today along with the flops.

Lets see the check list!

Stay of the scale??       Yes
Under 50 grams of carbs? ? no
exercise  ???  yes
no gluten???  no
No booze??? yes
73 oz or more of water?? yes
track macros??? yes
BMF data???? not ready yet
No sweets??? no

We have a pretty mixed bag today! Tomorrows goal is more yes's!!!!

Is this good? Is it paleo? No! Is it a start ? YES!!!

I was really hungry all day and very under prepared to launch this journey today.

Meals

sausage and baby bell

kraut bacon and onion

cheese/ banana

Looks good so far! I am a huge breakfast eater and was actually out of eggs. 3 oz of sausage was so not enough breakfast for me! My darn chickens have taken to laying out off the coop the last few days. Dh will screen in the door this weekend so I can open and they get light. however those ladies will not be getting out until they give me my eggs! I'm not feeding them organic feed and letting them poop all over the 10 acres so other critters can get the eggs! So there was mistake 1. SMALL breakfast. I can fix this one.

Lunch was tasty but not real filling. Back again to not having meat thawed or easy to prepare! I fried a pound of bacon with and onion and kraut. Very good but  not enough protein!  Mistake 2 NOT ENOUGH protein! Ok I can fix this one also!

Still ravenous later I ate a banana. Real yummy but bad without protein! About 2 hours later I was tucking into the cheddar. Mistake 3. A CARB without a protein! Ok this is easy to avoid if I am prepared with food right?!

Oh boy lets get to mistake number 4 and it is a doozy! Kiddo wanted to go to the salvage grocer for gum since it is only .30 a pack there. Of course he throws lots of other goodies in the cart.  He opened a chocolate bar in the car. OH THE SMELL!!!! Milk chocolate with toffee chunks I am a toffee fiend. Fiend I say! Once he offered me a bit I was gone. I thought about it a split second and said oh I can start tomorrow!  talk about rationalization!  Mistake 4 being around candy this early in the game! Game plan for the future. Send kiddo by himself. He is 16. He can drive! I can send cash and he can haul whatever goodies to his room!

So I get home to cook dinner and the chicken I took out this morning is still frozen! Eh gads. Kid is hungry. Dh is hungry. I am hungry. Lets see what is in the fridge. leftover bbq's and chicken tenders. I heat it all up. The guys eat the bbq's and I ate a few of the tenders. Oh they are not very tasty! Bleech I tossed them to the dogs.  Oh no I am still hungry. Gee, no eggs, frozen chicken. Eh gads.

Gee didnt I do what every logical would be paleo eater would do??? No, I am sure they didnt swipe a pack of PopTarts! However, I did.

So the BIG BIG BIG lesson for me with this whole saga is if I want to get healthy and trim down I need to plan ahead. I see some batch cooking for the freezer looming in my near future.

Well, I have a plan to not fail tomorrow!

I have to leave at 6:30 am tomorrow. If those naughty chickens dont leave me eggs to eat for breakfast I will have a smoothie. Protein powder may not be paleo/ primal 100% but it will do until I get those chicks to behave.

I have the rest of the kraut and bacon in a container for lunch tomorrow. I will stop and get a pack of almonds to go with it if I get hungry.

I have that half thawed chicken currently cooking along with some beef for taco salad. That will cover dinners for the next two days. I microwaved some spaghetti squash for tomorrow.

I will get my butt up at 5am to do the Shred!

I will bring my water to work and drink it.

It looks like tomorrow is planned and that equals success!!!

On another note. I spend way too much time on the computer. However that is a goal to tackle next Monday.
